  • Day 1 Flight to Lukla and Trek to Phakding (8,500 ft / 2,600 m)

    The adventure begins with an exciting, short flight from Kathmandu to Lukla (2,800 m), where you will meet your guide and the Sherpa team. From Lukla, your trek to Phakding is relatively easy and mostly downhill, as you cross the Dudh Kosi River, which carries the pale glacial sediment that gives it its name, “Milk River.” Many of the region’s bridges were initially built by Sir Edmund Hillary’s Himalayan Trust, with later replacements being sturdy metal suspension bridges. This short hike allows for acclimatization, and you’ll arrive in Phakding for an overnight stay.

  • Day 2 Trek to Namche Bazaar (11,300 ft / 3,445 m)

    Today’s hike takes you through several Sherpa villages as you enter Sagarmatha National Park, established in 1976 as the first park in the Himalayas. The park protects an area of immense environmental, cultural, and religious significance and acts as the gateway to the Himalayas’ towering peaks. You’ll face your first challenge of the trek: the ascent of “Namche Hill.” This steep climb takes you up a forested hillside, eventually leading to Namche Bazaar, the heart of Sherpa culture. About halfway up, you might catch your first glimpse of Everest. Once you reach Namche, you’ll be rewarded with stunning views and the comforts of a bustling town.

  • Day 3 Acclimatization Day in Namche Bazaar

    The mantra for acclimatization is “Climb high, sleep low,” and Namche is the perfect place to put this into practice. Take a day to rest and explore this vibrant Sherpa town. The views of Thamserku and Kwangde are breathtaking, and you can hike to the Sagarmatha National Park Visitor’s Center and Museum for more incredible vistas of Everest and the surrounding peaks. The museum also offers educational displays on the region’s culture, geography, and wildlife.

  • Day 4 Trek to Thame (12,464 ft / 3,800 m)

    Today, you’ll head northwest through the Nangpo-Drangpo River Valley, passing waterfalls, rhododendron forests, and stunning views of the Kwangde massif. Before reaching Thamo, take a moment to look back at Thamserku and Kusum Kanguru. Thame is known for being the birthplace of Tenzing Norgay, the legendary Sherpa who, alongside Sir Edmund Hillary, reached the summit of Everest in 1953. Visit the Thame Monastery, where you can learn about the annual Mani Rimdu festival, and enjoy views of Nangpa-la Pass, which leads into Tibet.

  • Day 5 Trek to Khunde (12,628 ft / 3,084 m)

    After a short return trek towards Namche, you’ll ascend to Syangboche and pass through the twin villages of Khunde and Khumjung. Khumbila, the sacred peak of the Sherpa people, towers above them. In Khunde, visit the Hillary Hospital, and in Khumjung, you can visit the Hillary School, which supports local education.

  • Day 6 Trek to Thyangboche (12,650 ft / 3,863 m)

    Descend through Khumjung and visit its ancient monastery, which is rumored to house the sacred scalp of the “Yeti.” From there, head downhill through lush forests of rhododendron and pine, eventually reaching the monastery at Thyangboche. Known for its breathtaking location with views of Everest and Ama Dablam, Thyangboche is one of the most iconic spots in the Khumbu region.

  • Day 7 Trek to Pheriche/Dingboche (14,000 ft / 4,250 m)

    After leaving Thyangboche, you’ll pass through Deboche, a small village with a monastery home to Buddhist nuns. Continue on, crossing picturesque gorges and enjoying fantastic views of Ama Dablam, before reaching Pheriche, where the Himalayan Rescue Association (HRA) Clinic is located. This is the perfect place to rest, and you might even encounter yak trains returning from Everest Base Camp.

  • Day 8 Acclimatization Day in Pheriche/Dingboche

    Take a rest day in Pheriche, and visit the HRA clinic for an informative talk on mountain sickness. If you’re feeling up to it, you can take an optional hike to Dingboche or explore the surrounding valleys. For those who are well acclimatized, you can hike up to the base of Island Peak or the peak of Chukhung Ri for an even more remarkable view.

  • Day 9 Trek to Lobuche (16,175 ft / 4,931 m)

    Today’s trek brings you closer to the Khumbu Glacier. After passing through Dughla, you’ll reach a memorial cairn dedicated to climbers who lost their lives while attempting to summit Everest. As you continue to Lobuche, the views of Mount Nuptse will take your breath away.

  • Day 10 Trek to Everest Base Camp (5,300 m) and Return to Gorak Shep (5,165 m)

    Today’s the big day! Starting early to avoid the afternoon clouds, you’ll trek towards Everest Base Camp, passing over moraine and boulders. While you may not catch a glimpse of Everest’s summit, you will see the awe-inspiring Khumbu Icefall. After soaking in the view, you’ll return to Gorak Shep for an overnight stay.

  • Day 11 Trek to Kala Patthar (5,545 m) and Return to Pheriche

    An early morning start takes you to Kala Patthar for breathtaking views of Everest and surrounding peaks. After taking in the view, descend back to Gorak Shep, and continue your trek down to Pheriche.

  • Day 12 Trek to Namche Bazaar (11,300 ft / 3,445 m)

    Enjoy a more leisurely trek as you descend into the valley of the Imja River. Pass through the ancient village of Pangboche, where you can visit the monastery, and continue through beautiful forests. You’ll cross the Phungithenga River before reaching Tashinga and making your way back to Namche for the night.

  • Day 13 Trek to Lukla (9,299 ft / 2,835 m)

    On the final day of trekking, you’ll descend to Lukla, where you’ll bid farewell to your guide and trekking crew.

    Weather permitting, fly back to Kathmandu. If your flight is delayed or canceled, the team in Lukla will ensure you’re comfortably accommodated until conditions improve. After arriving in Kathmandu, you’ll be transferred to your hotel, where you can relax or explore the city.
