Ltd. is led by a dedicated team of seasoned trekking professionals who began their journey under the mentorship of the legendary Colonel Jim Roberts—a former British Gurkha officer and founder of Nepal’s first officially recognized trekking company, Mountain Travel. The legacy of exploration and excellence continues through Mountain Legend, offering authentic, high-altitude experiences across Nepal’s dramatic landscapes, pristine mountain villages, and culturally rich trails. At the heart of Mountain Legend is Anil Chandra Gurung, Founder and Managing Director, who brings more than 27 years of experience from his tenure at Mountain Travel. During that time, he played a pivotal role in organizing treks and expeditions while training dozens of guides—many of them Sherpas—in the evolving techniques of modern mountain trekking. His passion for the mountains and commitment to quality service laid the foundation for what Mountain Legend is today.

Since its establishment, Mountain Legend has guided thousands of international trekkers through Nepal’s most iconic and remote trekking destinations. Among the team are guides who have reached the summit of Mount Everest, including one who has done so an incredible seven times.
